Culture

Cornell Finance Club is dedicated to cultivating a cohesive culture built upon inclusion, growth, and intellectual rigor. This culture is maintained both in and out of the classroom through group learning and projects as well as social events.

New Member Education

Our comprehensive New Member Education program is designed to prepare new members for a variety of roles in finance, emphasizing fundamental accounting, modeling, and valuation skills as well as qualitative communication and presentation skills. Collaborative deliverables and stock pitches offer members opportunities to apply their learning with the support of their classmates. With weekly classes, skills workshops to reinforce material, and exit interviews, new members will be well-prepared for real-life interviews by the end of their first semester in CFC.

club socials

In addition to our New York City trek each semester, Cornell Finance Club organizes numerous events designed to bring members closer. Some of our past socials include hibachi dinners, cruises, attending the BlackGen gala, and more.

Before joining Cornell Finance Club, I had heard that its members were very passionate about finance, and I found this to true. Between the NME and our stock pitch competition, I gained insight beyond surface-level memorization. CFC has pushed me to think differently about finance, and I’ve learned an incredible amount just by being immersed in the club’s environment.

My favorite CFC social this semester was definitely going to our pong welcoming event after we initially started New Member Education. It was a great opportunity meet the rest of the club and really connect to all the members!

After getting into CFC, I didn’t know what to expect from NME, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of my first semester. From going to NME every Sunday, to working on the merger pitch, or selling donuts all day for the fundraiser, I have many good memories. Through NME, I grew close with my fellow new members while learning about finance and developing professionally. I would definitely recommend it to everyone!
